The police sniper is often the most important and misused element of a tactical team. The success or failure of the sniper program rests heavily on those selected to supervise and lead the unit. They are the ones who will make the crucial decisions about selection, equipment, training and deploying snipers in critical incidents. However, they cannot be expected to make these knowledgeable decisions without a thorough understanding of the police sniper, their function, needs, capabilities, and limitations!

This two-day (classroom) course is designed to educate the SWAT Supervisor or Team Leader charged with the responsibility of establishing and/or supervising and utilizing a sniper team. This course will provide the information you will need to create, maintain, and supervise a successful and effective sniper program.

Course content includes establishing a program, LE vs Military sniper programs, writing policies, buying equipment, organizing and documenting training, current tactics, legal issues, and relevant case studies.

This course is not just for Sniper Supervisors and active Sniper Team Leaders. If you are an Entry Team Leader or in a Command position on your team and would like a better understanding of your sniper team and how it should be run and how to better integrate snipers and entry, this course is for you as well!
