Law Enforcement Sniper Supervisor/Team Leader Course

Law Enforcement/Corrections Only
Course Overview

This two-day (classroom) course is designed to educate the SWAT Supervisor or Team Leader charged with the responsibility of establishing and/or supervising and utilizing a sniper team. This course will provide the information you will need to create, maintain, and supervise a successful and effective sniper program.

Course Description

The police sniper is often the most important and misused element of a tactical team. The success or failure of any sniper program rests heavily on those selected to supervise and lead. They are the ones who will make the crucial decisions about member selection, equipment, training and deployment during critical incidents. Therefore, it is incredibly important that these decision-makers have a thorough understanding of the police sniper; their function, needs, capabilities and limitations.

Course content includes establishing a viable sniper program, differences between law enforcement and military sniper programs, writing policies, buying equipment, organizing, and documenting training, current tactics, legal issues, and relevant case studies.

This course is not just for sniper supervisors and active sniper team leaders. If you are an entry team leader or in a command position on your team and would like a better understanding of your sniper unit should be managed, deployed, and integrated with other team units, this course is for you as well.
